4 Reasons to Choose Botox® and Fillers Over a Face-Lift

4 Reasons to Choose Botox® and Fillers Over a Face-Lift

The subtle lines and wrinkles on your face are beginning to show your age, but that may not accurately reflect how young you feel. A face-lift may provide dramatic results, but may not make the right choice for you now.

Botox® and dermal fillers are effective and less invasive options that can help you capture a more youthful look. Plus, the results are subtle, making you look refreshed and not worked on.

At Associated Skin Care Specialists, our cosmetic dermatologists are experts at cosmetic injections, providing Botox and fillers to restore a more youthful appearance that looks natural.

If you’re considering your options to fight the visible signs of aging, we want to share four reasons to choose Botox and fillers over a face-lift.

1. No downtime

Botox and fillers are the most popular cosmetic treatments in the United States. People choose cosmetic injections over other rejuvenating treatments for many reasons. But a major allure of Botox and fillers is they require no downtime.

Instead of incisions and general anesthesia, you get injections and topical numbing lotions. Some people even tolerate the injections without the need for any anesthetic.

Injections are quick and sometimes completed over a lunch break, after which you can go back to your usual routine after. You may have some redness and swelling at the site of the injection, so you may choose to take the rest of the day off, but it’s not necessary.

The only restriction following Botox and fillers is that you skip strenuous physical activity for a day or two to minimize post-injection bruising.

2. Treatment is customized

We customize Botox and filler treatment plans and may have a little more control over results than we do with surgery. We carefully and expertly inject the medications into specific areas of your face to get the desired look.

With Botox, we can smooth out wrinkles on the forehead and eyes; with fillers we fill in lines and creases around the mouth. We can also use fillers to add volume to lips and lift fallen cheeks.

A face-lift smooths out lines and creases by lifting the skin, adjusting muscles and fat, and removing any excess skin and fat. If you want plumper lips, you need a different procedure.

3. Results are natural

Because we have more control over injections, you can expect subtle results. We use small amounts of Botox and fillers so you look refreshed, not overdone.

A face-lift is dramatic, producing dramatic results. If you want more natural results, injections may be the better choice.

4. More accessible and affordable

Not everyone is a candidate for a face-lift. Surgery is recommended for people with moderate to severe facial sagging not fixable with less invasive cosmetic treatments like injections.

If your lines and wrinkles are relatively new, Botox and fillers can keep you looking young and may even delay the more visible signs of aging.

Underlying health issues also affect a person’s ability to get a face-lift. Botox and fillers have fewer restrictions, making them more accessible to those who don’t qualify for a face-lift.

Injections are also a lot more affordable and don’t require time off from work.

Looking as young as you feel doesn’t always mean surgery. We can help you get the look you want with our cosmetic dermatology treatments
